NEWS AND FEATURES: Eagles play out draw with Mexico again

The  Super Eagles of Nigeria played out a goalless draw with their Mexican counterparts in an international friendly game at the Dome in Atlanta, GA early on Thursday.

The game saw the troika of Michael Uchebo, Leon Balogun and Ramon Azeez handed their international debuts, with Uchebo making the starting XI, and Balogun and Azeez making second half appearances.

Injured

But it will be a debut to forget for Balogun, who was taken off injured just minutes after he came in, after he crashed into a pitch side board.
The Nigerians failed to take the early chances created, and ended the first half with no goals despite the pressure.

The Eagles blitzed their South American counterparts, using their pace and strength to create chance after chance in the first 15 minutes.

Shots

Emmanuel Emenike and Ogenyi Onazi saw their shots on saved by Ochoa, and Victor Moses saw another effort go wide.

But the Mexicans slowly clawed their way back into the game and had a couple of chances themselves, but Vincent Enyeama made some huge saves to keep the game goalless.

Travelled

Then, Victor Moses found space to fire in a low cross that travelled harmlessly across goal.

Michael Uchebo, who made his international debut, played some pretty football early on, but gradually slipped out of the game.

Chances

The second half was more of the same, with both sides creating chances. However, Austin Ejide, who came on for Vincent Enyeama, was the more busy of the two goalkeepers.

Both sides played out an exciting 2-2 draw when they met in Houston in 2013
