Super Eagles’ coach, Gernot Rohr has reacted to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Draw as a difficult one, with three good teams at the group stage, AOIFootball.com reports.
The coach said Group D is filled with good teams and “playing Croatia makes things tougher for us.”
Rohr was quoted by football365.fr as saying: ”Croatia is capable of great things with a crop of stars playing in the biggest clubs. This is the most important match, and we hope to prepare for it, and against opponents similar to Croatia.
“Moreover, Argentina are also a big team; we know them, they are a very good team. We will not make the mistake of thinking that we already know them. Succeeding at the World Cup will be exceptional to the nation.
“We beat them in a friendly in Krasnodar last month, but Argentina played without Lionel Messi. And without Messi, Argentina is not the same team.
“I thank the federation for believing in me, beyond qualifying and staging at the World Cup, the goal is CHAN 2019. We want to come back and win,” Rohr stated.
