Huddersfield Town caused arguably the upset of the Premier League season so far by defeating Manchester United 2-1 on Saturday, for the first time since 1952.
Despite being overwhelming underdogs before kick-off at the John Smith’s Stadium, David Wagner’s men defied the odds and went in at half time 2-0 up thanks to goals from Aaron Mooy and Laurent Depoitre.
Jose Mourinho responded to the deficit at half time by bringing on Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Marcus Rashford at the break and although the latter’s goal with ten minutes remaining set up a nervy finish, Huddersfield held on and recorded their first win against Man United for around half a century.
No Jose Mourinho team has ever won a match having been 2-0 down at half time, and that record remains.
