CSKA Moscow of Russia striker, Aaron Samuel Olanare has added a symbolic angle to his desire of being part of the Super Eagles’ squad to next year’s World Cup, as he says it would be very dramatic for him to star for Nigeria in the country why his plies his trade.
Though he has failed to get a shirt under current Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr, Samuel said he has already started putting himself through the paces, as he aims to get more playing time with his club, in order to stage a bold claim for a place in Nigeria’s team to Russia 2018.
Samuel expressed his desire to make the Nigeria squad to the World Cup next year, but admits he needs to play regularly for his club for that to happen, because it is ‘very important’ for him to be at the tournament.
He admits he has not been playing much for his Russian club and the 23-year old all-action attacker admits has to change his fortunes at CSKA if his hopes of playing at football’s biggest event are to be actualized.
Samuel stressed: “I need to start playing more, because I have not been playing so much at the moment because of some issues.
“For me to be at the World Cup, I need to play more and it is something I am working on. It will be a good thing, and it is very important for me.
“Russia is where I am based, I know the country and the weather and as the World Cup is being played in the country where I am based, it will be very exciting for me to play in it.”
